Important Notice
MTN Merchant SIMs currently do not support sending money to:
- Merchant
IDs / Tills
- Telecel
or AirtelTigo numbers
An MTN Merchant SIM can only send money to other MTN
numbers.
Below is a clear guide on how to send money to other MTN subscribers
using your MTN Merchant SIM via SaylorPay:

Step 1: Launch SaylorPay & enable Merchant Mode
Open the SaylorPay app and enable Merchant Mode if it isn't
already active

Step 2: Navigate to Send Money

Step 3: Enter the Recipient's MTN Number
Type in the recipient's phone number, or select it
from your contacts.
Important Note on Ported Numbers:
SaylorPay automatically detects the recipient's network based on standard network prefixes:
- MTN:
053, 054, 059, 055, 024, 025
- Telecel:
020, 050
- AirtelTigo:
027, 057, 026, 023, 056
If a phone number starts with a Telecel or AirtelTigo prefix
but has been ported to MTN, make sure to manually reselect MTN as the
network. Failing to do so will result in a transaction error.

Step 4: Enter the Amount
Input the amount you wish to send.

Step 5: Add a Reference
Choose one of the following:
- Enter
a custom reference, or
- Tick
the "Auto-generate reference" checkbox to let SaylorPay generate a
unique reference for you every time.

Step 6: Confirm Sending Network
Select "MTN" as the network to send money from.

Step 7: Initiate the Transfer

Step 8: Enter Your Mobile Money PIN
