Follow this easy guide to buy airtime for others on MTN
using the SaylorPay app:
Step 1: Launch the SaylorPay App
Step 2: Select the Network
Choose “MTN” as the network from which you want to
purchase airtime.
Step 3: Choose the Correct Transfer Option
Tap on the downward-facing arrow to select the appropriate
option:
- MTN
to MTN - if you are buying airtime for an MTN number.
- MTN
to Other Networks - if you are buying airtime for a Telecel or
AirtelTigo number.
Step 4: Enter or Select the Recipient’s Phone Number
- You
can manually input the phone number or
- Select
it directly from your phone’s contact list.
Important Note on
Ported SIMs:
SaylorPay automatically detects the network of the number you enter based on
standard network prefixes:
- MTN:
053, 054, 055, 059, 024, 025
- Telecel:
020, 050
- AirtelTigo
(Glo Ghana inclusive): 026, 027, 056, 057, 023
If the number has been ported to a different network, you
must manually reselect the appropriate transfer option.
Examples:
If a number starts with “053”, “054”, “024”, “025”, “055”,
“059” SaylorPay will automatically select MTN to MTN.
So, if that number has been ported to Telecel or
AirtelTigo, you need to manually reselect MTN to Other Networks to
avoid transaction errors.
In the same sense, if a number starts with an AirtelTigo or
Telecel prefix, SaylorPay will automatically select MTN to Other Networks.
So, if that number has been ported to MTN, you need to manually reselect MTN to MTN before proceeding.
Step 5: Enter the Amount
Specify the amount of airtime you wish to purchase.
Step 6: Confirm and Complete the Purchase
Step 7: Enter Your Mobile Money PIN
When prompted, enter your Mobile Money PIN to
authorize and finalize the airtime purchase.
You're Done!
