Here's a simple step-by-step guide on how to buy airtime for
others on AirtelTigo using the SaylorPay app:
Choose “AirtelTigo” as the network you want to
purchase airtime from.
Step 3: Choose the Correct Transfer Option
Tap the downward-facing arrow to select the appropriate
option depending on the recipient's network:
- AirtelTigo
to AirtelTigo - for AirtelTigo (including Glo Ghana numbers).
- AirtelTigo
to MTN - for recipients using MTN.
- AirtelTigo
to Telecel - for recipients using Telecel.
Step 4: Enter or Select the Recipient’s Phone Number
- Manually
input the phone number or
- Select
the contact directly from your phonebook.
Important Note on
Ported SIMs:
SaylorPay automatically detects the network of the number you enter based on
standard network prefixes:
- MTN:
053, 054, 055, 059, 024, 025
- Telecel:
020, 050
- AirtelTigo
(Glo Ghana inclusive): 026, 027, 056, 057, 023
If a phone number has been ported (migrated from one
network to another), you must manually correct thennetwork selection after entering the
number.
Example:
If a number starts with “050” (Telecel prefix), SaylorPay will automatically
select AirtelTigo to Telecel. So, if the number has been ported to
AirtelTigo or MTN, you must manually reselect AirtelTigo to AirtelTigo or
AirtelTigo to MTN respectively as the case may be. If you fail to
reselect the appropriate network for the ported SIM, you will experience an
error.
Step 5: Enter the Amount
Enter the airtime amount you wish to purchase.
Step 6: Confirm and Complete the Purchase
Step 7: Enter Your Mobile Money PIN
When prompted, enter your Mobile Money PIN to
approve and complete the airtime purchase.
